Who are we?

We are a group of kids from South Florida, ranging in ages from 6 - teen years. We meet weekly for rehearsals and perform special concerts throughout the year. We perform classical music, melodies from musicals, Christmas carols, and traditional American songs.

William Hawthorne - Assistant

William Hawthorne served as Principal Bassist with the United States Air Force Chamber Orchestra in Washington, D. C. from 1965 - 1986.  During this time, he was also instructor of Double-Bass at American University, Catholic University, and Howard University.
The Washington Post acclaimed him as one of the finest performers of Double-Bass by music critic Robert Evett.  He also has appeared as a soloist throughout Europe and Asia.  Mr. Hawthorne has taught Middle and High School Band, as well as Orchestra in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, for 23 years.  
He was an instructor of strings for the Washington, D.C. Youth Orchestra for 20 years, grades K - 12th. 
He holds a Masters of Perfomance degree in Double-Bass from Catholic University, and a Bachelors of Music Education and Performance from Ball State University.  Mr. Hawthorne has served as an adjudicator for strings in Maryland and Virginia. 
He is currently enjoying his retirement here in Florida and keeps active both in performing and teaching cello and string bass.
