Who are we?

We are a group of kids from South Florida, ranging in ages from 6 - teen years. We meet weekly for rehearsals and perform special concerts throughout the year. We perform classical music, melodies from musicals, Christmas carols, and traditional American songs.

News!

This season we have added 4 young musicians. A warm welcome to the Savage family who are driving from Port St. Lucie, FL! They have added a violin, cello, and string bass. All three students are taking private music lessons from one of our string teachers associated with YASO. Welcome to Francis, a violinist from Avon Park, who recently joined YASO.

We welcome Bill Hawthorne, a professional musician (also retired from the Air Force), who is now assisting as part of our teaching team.

Congratulations to Donavan, a senior in high school, who has added viola to his accomplishments (formerly playing violin).

Welcome back to Kristi, who spent last season in Peru with her family as missionaries.

Last season YASO performed before several hundred people in 4 different concerts:

1. Christmas Extravaganza Dinner (fundraiser) sponsored by the Lake Placid Conference Center. It was well attended and enjoyed by all. YASO performed for around 200 people at that concert. People were interested in buying tickets in advance for next year. 

2. Mall in Sebring as part of the Music/Art Festival.

3. County Health Department Employee Christmas celebration.

4. Heartland Community Orchestra/Choir Christmas Concert performed at South Florida Community College
